Short Title:

Insulation potential Germany

Title:

Dämmbarkeit des deutschen Gebäudebestands

(Potentials of implementing insulation measures in the German building stock)

Short summary:

The study is aiming to quantify the saving potentials of useful heat consumption in Germany. Due to several restrictions, heat consumption can be reduced only to a certain amount. The potential limits narrow the scope for the reduction of primary energy consumption. This can only be compensated by additional efforts to reduce system losses and primary energy factors. Two scenarios have been calculated with the building model GEMOD, a business-as-usual scenario and one that focusses on ambitious climate protection. The study shows that the realistic potential does not reach the theoretical potential within the given time because the maximum speed of renovation is insufficient.

Usage:

In the course of the project the building model GEMOD has been improved. It documents the German stock of residential and non-residential buildings using 234 building types. Datasets of exemplary buildings from the TABULA typology were used as a basis for the residential building stock.

Title:

Instationäre Energiebedarfs- und Angebotssimulation eines Stadtquartiers mit Einbeziehung des Nutzerverhaltens

Short summary:

This paper describes the extension of an existing calculation model, which allows instationary quantification of the effects of the present and future energy demand of building groups. With the extension it will be possible to calculate the instationary behavior of buildings, their technical systems and the user behavior in detail. Thereby local effects of refurbishments can be quantified and the interdependencies of multiple buildings can be evaluated.

As an example this model is applied to a building stock which consists of 24 buildings. 3 scenarios are simulated to demonstrate the influence of the user behavior on the instationary simulation of this building stock. The result points out the tremendous effect of the user behavior which has to be considered thoroughly with the use of renewable energy sources

like photovoltaics.

Short summary:

The goal was to design a web application which would be used by the general public that offers information about the energy performance of building, using the building typology.

Usage:

The results of the project Tabula were used to design a specific procedure to search for a most appropriate typical building based on data specified by the user through a web application.

Short Title:

The use of information sources for typification of buildings in Slovenia

Title:

Uporaba informacijskih virov pri tipizaciji stavb v Sloveniji

Short summary:

This paper presents an overview of the currently available information sources and required information from existing methodologies in order to make precise calculations of energy indicators. To demonstrate the utility of information integration in this area a prototype of an application has been made that shows the aggregation of data from publicly accessible databases in Slovenia (the Real Estate Register, Building Cadastre, the Register of Spatial Units) and other required data and are therefore collected through a user’s input.

Usage:

A comparison of energy indicators acquired by the application from IEE TABULA described with actual measured data of energy consumption shows that the data collected by the application enable better analyses of the building stock, as otherwise applied in practice.

Short Title:

Usage for Cost Optimality Calculation

Title:

Short summary:

The national TABULA building typology was used to define new and existing single family and apartment buildings, for further analysis of cost optimality of minimum requirements set in Slovenian Building codes (PURES 2010). This was done in line with the EC Delegated Regulation (EU) No 244/2012, based on Article 5 of the Directive 2010/31/EU, the first cost optimal calculations based on a comparative methodology framework for calculating cost-optimal levels of minimum energy performance requirements for buildings.

Title:

Dynamic Building Stock Modelling: Application to 11 European countries to support the energy efficiency and retrofit ambitions of the EU

Short summary:

This is a scientific article that models long-term changes in the national residential building stock of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, France, Greece, Hungary, The Netherlands, Norway, Serbia and Slovenia. The study estimates the development in dwelling stock size and composition as well as the renovation activity.

Usage:

TABULA building typology principles and building stock data for the given countries are used as input to the study, with help from other partners ini the EPISCOPE project. The study aims at comparing building stock phenomena across different countries by use of one common modelling methodology.
